I have been teaching high school English since 1995. I have taught at Scenic Land School, Red Bank High School, and Signal Mountain MHS. Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught primarily juniors and seniors including AP English Language and Composition, the IB Theory of Knowledge course, and IB English. Senior research has always been an area of emphasis for me since I helped launch the Senior Project program at RBHS and SMMHS, and I am currently the coordinator for the IB Extended Essay at SMMHS. I was also a yearbook advisor and broadcasting teacher for many years, so I like to incorporate lots of visual literacy and technology into my curriculum.

I am a native of Chattanooga, and I am a third generation English teacher. (You can't fight fate...believe me!)

I grew up in Hixson and moved to Signal Mountain when I was 12 years old, so this community is home to me.

I have two children: Lou will be in 8th grade and Emmy will be in 6th grade at SMMHS.

My husband manages The Public House restaurant in downtown Chattanooga, and so we have a crazy schedule but we eat lots of good food!
