Since I was born and raised in Passau, Bavaria, I also went to college in Germany. College is free in Germany after all... I hold a Masters degree in teaching from the University of Passau. I also earned a National Board certification in 2006.

During and after college, I travelled extensively and lived in Hawaii, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. I started teaching English to speakers of other languages in 2000 in Greenville, South Carolina before I moved to Chattanooga. When VW came to town, I began teaching a Heritage German program at Normal Park Museum Magnet for the children of the VW employees. I came to Signal Mtn High school in August 2015, where I teach DP German and Heritage German.

I am excited to be part of the Signal Mountain family since I also live on the mountain and love it here. On the weekends, I rockclimb, trailrun, mountain bike or paddleboard with my dog Roxy.

If you are interested in visiting Germany or hosting a German student, please email me anytime. I coordinate our yearly GAPP student exchange to Hamm, Germany. Click on the GAPP logo on the main page (bottom left corner) for more information.
