Green Indicates Benchmark or Exam Testing Days and Blocks

*All students will log in to live class Zooms at the beginning of each class period to take their proctored benchmark/semester exams.

Yellow Indicates Benchmark Make-Up Testing Days

* Teachers will be able to schedule make-ups for any missed Benchmarks or Semester Exams to take place virtually on Wednesday, December 16 or on Thursday, December 17 during their regular class times.  Teachers will be proctoring these make-ups and can schedule the testing times directly with students (or their parents).  Mr. Carson and others will be coordinating any remaining make-ups that will take place when we return from the break in January.

Schedule – We will follow the attached schedule with only a minor change to the Wednesday schedule.  With there not being a dedicated virtual day in Phase 1, we will follow our regular EVEN schedule for Wednesday.  All teachers and students will follow the attached schedule with live Zooms taking place at the beginning of each class period.  As always, all live Zoom links, assignments, and resources will be posted in ManageBac and students should take advantage of asynchronous times and our asynchronous Friday virtual day to complete current or missing assignments.  To access next week's schedule, please click here: MS and HS December Phase 1 Schedule.docx .

  • Benchmarks and Exams – We will continue as planned to complete our benchmark and exam testing online during the GREEN class times noted on the attached schedule.  With us now following our regular EVEN and ODD schedules on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, teachers may schedule make-up benchmarks to take place during class on those two days marked in YELLOW.
  • Student Attendance – Teachers will continue to take attendance for each class period while marking absences for any students who are not participating in live class Zooms AND not completing assignments.  During Phase 1, students are not allowed to be on campus or in the building.  If your student is not able to participate due to sickness, an appointment, etc., you must send the excuse documentation to Mrs. Swan as usual.
  • Athletics and Extracurricular Activities – During Phase 1 beginning on Monday, December 14, all athletics and extracurricular activities are paused and cannot take place.  This applies to any practices, contests, meetings, etc. both on or off campus.  As of now, athletics and extracurricular activities are schedule to resume on January 4 with contests resuming on January 11 after students are re-acclimated.
  • Student Meals – Student meals will be available for pick-up during Phase 1 at Nolan Elementary each day next week from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
  • 2nd Semester Phase and Information – As the district continues to plan ahead for the 2nd semester, please be on the lookout for additional information to be shared regarding January schedules and plans.
  • SAFE Pledge Reminder – As we move into Phase 1 next week due to the increased number of COVID cases across our county, please be mindful of everyone’s responsibility to do our part to slow the spread of COVID.  In addition to wearing our masks, social distancing, limiting our contacts with others, and remaining home during quarantine periods or when symptomatic/awaiting testing results, we must all have a renewed commitment to the HCS SAFE Pledge in order to have our schools re-open and athletics and other activities resume over the next few weeks.  To access the HCS SAFE Pledge, please CLICK HERE.
