  • Congratulations to our MATHCOUNTS team who recently placed 6th overall in the State in their first ever appearance!  Congratulations to Jeffery Lin, Kaitlyn Castellanet, Lydia Miller, Cambria Ginther, and Mrs. Agan as their coach!  #IBKnowledgeable
  • Congratulations to Jake Little as our March Math League winner and Max Burk, Jack Poss, Lydia Miller, and Kaitlyn Castellanet for placing 2nd!  The cumulative Math League leaders are Max Burk and Logan Dapp in 1st place, Jake Little in 2nd place, and Matthew Ashline and Jack Poss in 3rd place!  #IBKnowledgeable
  • Congratulations to Stella Sherrill as she was recently named as a 2019 Carson Scholar!  Stella will receive a monetary scholarship and be recognized at the Carson Scholars Fund Annual Awards Banquet later on in May!  #IBPrincipled
  • News 12 is starting up another season of Golden Apple reports. These stories honor some of the best, brightest, and most innovative teachers across the Tennessee Valley. Information Items

  • Swing, Swang, Swung Band Event – The annual SMMHS Band Swing, Swang, Swung Jazz Dinner and Dance will take place on Friday, March 29 beginning at 7:00 pm at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.  The event will feature the SMMHS Jazz Band and Uptown Big Band and tickets are $40 individually and $300 for a table.  For more information, please visit
  • GAPP German Foreign Exchange Applications – Our German American Partnership Program is now taking applications for the 2019-2020 school year!  Spots are limited, and students and parents who have questions should contact Mrs. Baxley.
  • Yearbook Student Interest Meeting – Any students who are interested in participating on the Yearbook staff for next year should attend an informational meeting during in Ms. Manning’s room during Directed Studies on Wednesday, April 10.  If parents or students have questions, please contact Ms. Manning.
  • Sports Physicals – Please note that all MS and HS students must have a physical completed and it must remain active throughout the season in order to participate in any sport.  Physicals are good for 1 year from the issue date of the physical, but all physicals expire on June 30 each year per TSSAA and TMSAA rules.  Physicals can be administered by primary physicians or through the Erlanger Sports and Health Institute on April 27 from 8:00 to 12:00 or on May 14 from 4:00 to 7:00.  All physicals for students in grades 9-12 are free and physicals for students in grades 6-8 are $15.
