SMMHS Parent University

Paula Collier with the Chattanooga- Hamilton County Health Department for a Parent University session on vaping/ e-cigarettes.

Paula is the Tobacco Prevention Coordinator and Public Health Educator for the Health Department, and has a presentation for parents.

This University session will be held on Tuesday, January 29th, at 9:15am. in the theatre.

Did you miss yesterday’s “Parent U” session on Managebac and PowerSchool? Never fear! We have Video!

ALL Parents are encouraged to watch the video even if you already use these two programs.

• Check your child’s grades, see what’s missing, check assignments and due dates, find detailed info on homework with links to study guides and videos (essential if a child misses class) and a link to easily email your child’s teachers.
• View messages related to various groups that your child participates and Copy your child’s school calendar to your Google calendar.
• Have more than one child at SMMHS? Link all your children’s accounts under one parent account (with one password) and use dropdown boxes to switch between children. How cool is that?!
• Find out who to contact if you or your child has trouble accessing PowerSchool or Managebac or forgets a password. 

PowerSchool and Managebac are really cool tools for Parents to use to keep up with your child’s work at school and help them navigate.

Thanks to SMMHS Teacher and Technology Director Chris Raynolds for sharing his knowledge of these programs and to fellow teacher Matt Doebler and his 3rd-block Film students for filming this “Parent U” session.
