Due Date: 8/11/2016

ADVANCED PLACEMENT WORLD HISTORY

2016 SUMMER READING REQUIREMENTS

Students entering AP World History in the 2016-2017 school year need to be familiar with world history from the Neolithic Revolution up to circa 1450.

AP World History will begin with instruction in the new testing procedures for the AP test using historical information prior to 1450.

In order for each student to review the same material, students need to use ONE of the resources below using the Chapters indicated.

BOOKS TO USE FOR REVIEW:

The Princeton Review: Cracking the AP World History Exam 2014 Edition

ISBN: 978-0-307-94626-3

Part IV: Content Review for the AP World History Exam – Chapters 6 and 7

OR

The Princeton Review: Cracking the AP World History Exam 2015 Edition

ISBN: 978-0-8041-2518-5

Part IV: Content Review for the AP World History Exam – Chapters 6, 7 and 8

Information in these chapters will NOT be taught in AP World History in the 2016-2017 school year but WILL be used in teaching testing procedures as a review of information at the beginning of the year therefore it is critical that you come to class prepared with knowledge of these chapters. You will be given assignments using this information at the beginning of the year.

During the 2016-2017 school year, AP World students will be required to purchase the Princeton Review book for 2017 but it may not be available yet. You may also use the 2016 book if you read the chapters that correlate to the same time periods assigned above. Feel free to borrow a book from a former AP World student.
