Morning Announcements
HS/MS:
Creative Writing Club and Chess Club will be today after school til 3:30 in Mrs. Brock’s Room. Everyone in grades 6-10 are invited.
High School:
Homecoming Week is coming up next week September 23-27.
This year’s dress-up themes are “Twin Day Tuesday,” “Neon Day Wednesday,” “Superhero vs. Villain Thursday,” and “Jersey Day Friday.” Daily prizes will be awarded to the 2 best-dressed high school students and the 1 best-dressed faculty member. Start making plans for your outfits!
Guest Forms for the High School Homecoming Dance are available and are due back no later than Wednesday, September 24th. Digital copies will be sent through MB and hard copies will be available for pick-up in the front office. Please read the directions very carefully as the form has changed this year.
Online ticket sales for the Homecoming Dance will open today on Givebacks. The cost is 20.00 per ticket. In-person sales will take place during high school lunches on Tuesday, September 23rd-Friday, September 26th. All online and in-person ticket sales will close after 2nd high school lunch on Friday, the 26th.
If you believe you qualify for Beta Club, but did not receive an invitation, please check with your SOAR teacher. For further questions, contact Mrs. Julie Perez or Ms. Meznar.
Applications and fees are due this Friday, September 19 at 3:00 pm. This is a firm deadline—please plan ahead so that you do not miss out on your opportunity to participate.
The deadline to register to take the PSAT at school is October 3rd. (Test date will be Wednesday, Oct 29.) To register for the PSAT, pay the $18 fee from GiveBacks or by scanning the QR code on the flyers in the halls. Students may also pay in person in the Learning Center with Mrs. Patton. The PSAT is primarily for juniors. It is the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship program for juniors only. Some 10th & 9th graders also take the PSAT for practice. AGAIN, DEADLINE TO PAY FOR THE PSAT IS OCTOBER 3rd.
Middle School:
Middle schoolers! We will be following the same dress up themes for high school homecoming. Every day, the best-dressed boy, girl, and teacher will win a prize.
