Morning Announcements
High school:
This is reminder that seniors who are taking IB Bio or IB Physics need to go to Mrs. Sperry’s room during SOAR today for their Group 4 presentations.
THE ART HONORS SOCIETY HAS THE HONOR OF PAINTING A METAL LIBERTY BELL THAT WILL BE ON EXHIBIT IN CHATTANOOGA. THERE ARE AROUND 40 BELLS THAT WILL BE ON DISPLAY AND SIGNAL IS THE ONLY SCHOOL CHOSEN TO PARTICI PATE IN THIS COMMUNITY ART EVENT!
“Mu Alpha Theta, Signal Mountain High School’s math honor society, will hold its first meeting of the year on Wednesday August 26th after school in Mr. Holt’s room 2135. Interested 9th – 12th graders should pick up a membership application from their math teacher or see Mr. Holt or Mrs. Johnson.”
“Interested in becoming a Mu Alpha Theta officer for the 26-27 school year? Stop by Mr. Holt’s room for additional information and an application before the first club meeting.”
HS bowling tryouts for next Monday (Aug 24) and Wednesday (Aug 26) at SpareTime Hixson from 4-5. Open to 8th – 12th graders with both a boy and a girls team and no experience necessary.
Athletes do not need to be there on both days, but they must have their final forms completed.
Middle School:
Join us for the first meeting of the Middle School Card and Board Games Club on Thursday, August 27th from 2:45 to 3:45 in Mrs. Bergren’s room. Bring a game and a friend!
The boys’ and girls’ middle school cross country teams are off to an outstanding start. They both took 1st place at our 1st meet of the season last night at Chickamauga Dam. William Miller, Jackon Pickett, and Thompson Oakley led our boys’ team to come in 3rd, 4th, and 5th place overall. Delaney Paxson, Rose Strunk, and Ellie Skidmore led our girls’ team coming in 1st, 3rd, and 4th overall! Keep up the great work everyone and Go Eagles!
The Middle School Robotics Team will have an interest meeting after school on Monday, August 24 from 2:45-3:30 in Room 4023 (Mr. Dodson’s room on the 6th grade hallway). Students will work together to build and program competition robots, test their designs, and prepare for regional VEX IQ competitions throughout the school year.
