Location & Services
The Learning Center (room 3134), located in The Compass Media Center, provides free academic support and tutoring to all SMMHS students (grades 6-12). Thanks to donations to MEF, these services are available whether the student is on-campus or enrolled in HCS@Home.
Hours
The Center is currently open Monday through Friday until 4 pm and there are virtual and in-person options available.
HCS@Home
For at-home students, Ms. Duncan is available by Zoom until the last block each day.
In-person/ On campus
For students on campus, it is possible to arrange tutoring during Directed Studies in some cases. Please contact Ms. Duncan by email
duncan_abbey@hcde.org to make arrangements. After-school tutoring is available from 2:45 until 4:00 pm each afternoon except Wednesdays, and there is no appointment needed.

To access the Learning Center by Zoom, use Meeting ID 959 952 3044 Password GoEagles. Students will ente
r the meeting waiting room and be admitted as soon as possible. Please be aware that there may be a wait if there are other students already receiving assistance.
Coordinator Bio
Abbey Duncan graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2019 with a B.S. in Anthropology. During her time at UTC, she was employed as a Supplemental Instruction Leader in Mathematics at the Center for Academic Support and Advisement. In addition to working at SMMHS, Ms. Duncan also works in archaeology and cultural resources management and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Native American Leadership. She is a parent to three SMMHS students herself!
