Hello My Name Is...

Kim Brown

This is my seventh year as a teacher at Signal Mountain. I am currently teaching 7th and 8th grade science.

I am a certified Naturalist and a Biology major who loves being outdoors and loves working with nature. I am married with one daughter who is an engineering student at the University of Tennessee and who graduated from the IB Diploma Program at SMMHS. We live on a farm in Chickamauga and have two horses, five dogs, and four cats.

I have taught science in Hamilton County for 16 years. Before joining the Signal Mountain faculty, I taught Biology, Biology II, Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, and Psychology at East Ridge High School. I enjoy teaching middle school because of the excitement and energy that middle school students bring with them to class every day. Science is simply awesome and it is a joy to share this passion with a group of great kids.

For this science class, students will need a 1-1/2 inch three ring binder, a set of dividers, and pencils or pens. Also, tape, expo markers, and magic erasers are recommended.
